6 Hours of Halo 3

There’s two things I’ve become aware of. The first is that I seem to have this trend that involves me playing games for 6 hours straight; no more and no less. The second is that I make about 3 or 4 conclusions regarding a game I’m playing before I actually complete it. They say you shouldn’t pass judgment until you know the full story, but I ignore that philosophy and make that call 5 minutes into things. My initial one being that Halo 3 was a disappointment. It felt as such for the first mission, at least; little depth and not so much action… THIS is Halo? Why do I care? Then the addiction set in…

By about the third mission I quickly realised the error of my ways, and I was in my element. The action sets in, slowly but surely. With each passing battle it gets slightly more intense; more enemies, weapons, and involvment. There’s two missions left, and I’m going to reserve all thoughts on it in its entirety until myself and Mr. Chief have finished the fight! Then Chief can go on and advertise teeth whitening gel in an underwhelming infomercial career, while I resort to blowing television producers for crack money and bit-parts in shitty melodramas. Here’s hoping we hook up for Halo 4 before I go the path of ol’ Jimmy Morrison and take a cool, relaxing bath… for the rest of eternity.

I just finished level 8 this afternoon. I am hoping to finish the fight tonight. I almost don’t want to. How do you experience the end of a story you have been actively participating in for years? I almost want to leave it unfinished.
